Oral Exams
As a new patient, Dr. Rascius will sit down with you to understand your unique medical history, dental history, oral health goals, and current challenges. Our initial phase “Explore” consists of:
Full mouth digital x-rays
Digital wellness scan
Intraoral photos
Periodontal chart (measuring gum & bone health)
Oral cancel screening
Airway screening
Detailed extraoral and intraoral exam
Based on your exam and your unique goals, Dr. Rascius will craft a personalized treatment plan. She may recommend further diagnostics including:
3D x-ray (CBCT: Cone beam computed tomography)
Salivary testing
Taking all of the exploratory phase findings into account, we will design treatment that prevents, restores, and refines as needed for you.

A dental exam is an appointment dedicated to understanding your oral health, your risks, and your goals. We use a combination of x-ray imaging, intraoral photos, and digital scanners to obtain information. We will then discuss your unique treatment needs and a plan that fits you. The most important part of this first visit is understanding if we’re a good match for you. You should never feel pressured to undergo any treatment. We are here to partner with you on your health journey.

We do our best to verify your insurance benefits ahead of time to provide you with the most accurate cost estimate. We are in-network with Aetna, Ameritas, Guardian, Humana, MetLife, Principal and United HealthCare. We are out of network with Delta Dental, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Husky. No matter your in or out of network status, we will work with you to maximize your benefits. We do not believe in allowing insurance to dictate patient care. For larger treatment plans, we offer flexible financing options.

There are a few different types of dental exams. Based on your dental history and needs, it can range from $100 to $400.
We recommend all new patients undergo a comprehensive exam, which includes a full mouth series of digital x-rays.
A periodic exam is a more basic exam along with your regularly scheduled hygiene visits.
A limited exam is what we perform in the case of a dental emergency or a specific concern.

On the day of your first exam, we will come up with a treatment plan for you and your specific goals. Typically, treatment is not completed on this first visit, although it can be if preferred and the schedule allows.
