Oral Exams

As a new patient, Dr. Rascius will sit down with you to understand your unique medical history, dental history, oral health goals, and current challenges. Our initial phase “Explore” consists of:

  1. Full mouth digital x-rays

  2. Digital wellness scan

  3. Intraoral photos

  4. Periodontal chart (measuring gum & bone health)

  5. Oral cancel screening

  6. Airway screening

  7. Detailed extraoral and intraoral exam

Based on your exam and your unique goals, Dr. Rascius will craft a personalized treatment plan. She may recommend further diagnostics including:

  1. 3D x-ray (CBCT: Cone beam computed tomography)

  2. Salivary testing

Taking all of the exploratory phase findings into account, we will design treatment that prevents, restores, and refines as needed for you.

  • A dental exam is an appointment dedicated to understanding your oral health, your risks, and your goals. We use a combination of x-ray imaging, intraoral photos, and digital scanners to obtain information. We will then discuss your unique treatment needs and a plan that fits you. The most important part of this first visit is understanding if we’re a good match for you. You should never feel pressured to undergo any treatment. We are here to partner with you on your health journey.

  • Yes, we will be participating as in-network providers for some insurance plans. Soleil is in the process of getting credentialed with a number of dental insurance plans. As this can take some time (30-120 days), when we open we may be out of network with your plan. We can still process your insurance to estimate your fee and your covered benefits. We are also working to create multiple membership plans for those who do not have dental insurance, or for those with specific needs.

  • There are a few different types of dental exams. Based on your dental history and needs, it can range from under $100 to around $300.

We recommend all new patients undergo a comprehensive exam, which includes a full mouth series of digital x-rays.

A periodic exam is a more basic exam along with your regularly scheduled hygiene visits.

A limited exam is what we perform in the case of a dental emergency or a specific concern.

  • On the day of your first exam, we will come up with a treatment plan for you and your specific goals. Typically, treatment is not completed on this first visit, although it can be if preferred and the schedule allows.
