Emergency Dentistry

Dental pain can be awful to suffer through. Call our office to be seen for an emergency exa, if you are experience any of the following:

Dental Trauma: falls, accidents, or assaults that affect the face, jaws, and teeth. This might look like:

  1. Fractures: any fracture of the tooth where there is bleeding coming from within the tooth is a dental emergency.

  2. Avulsions: a tooth is lost in its entirety; it comes out of the socket. This requires immediate attention.

  3. Luxations: a tooth is shifting in position (falls, hits, punches can often do this). This requires immediate attention.

  4. Lacerations: cuts to the lips, tongue, tissues of the mouth can warrant urgent attention based on extent and severity.

Dental infections: swelling of the face, mouth, gums. Drainage of pus. Severe redness. Difficulty breathing or swallowing warrants a trip to the emergency room.

Bleeding that won’t stop: if you’ve had a dental procedure and bleeding is soaking through gauze quickly, not letting up within 20 minutes of pressure, this can warrant immediate attention. Always call the office if you have questions.
